Laboratory Assistant (Summer Placement)

Job Responsibilities

• Routine and ad‑hoc testing and activities within the Micronclean Laboratory.
• Sample preparation, conditioning, testing, disposal or preservation as required.
• Reporting of results on a LIMS system.
• Maintenance of laboratory equipment; keeping the laboratory clean, safe and operational, including calibration of equipment where applicable.
• Support and contribute to the advancement of laboratory testing capability.
• Provide an active role in supporting the wash trial facility.
• Effectively communicate and support other business functions with testing understanding, results and scientific knowledge.

Qualifications

• Ideal for candidates completing GCSEs in Year 11, studying BTECs or A‑levels at college or sixth form, or seeking experience between periods of university study.
• Scientific experience preferred but not essential; an undergraduate degree in biology, chemistry, microbiology or related subjects is an advantage.
• Good IT skills in the use of Microsoft Office products.
• Good communication skills.
• Full UK driving licence.
