CNC Machinist

Salary £43,000 (includes shift allowance). Working 37.5 hours per week on a 5‑night shift pattern from Sunday 22:00 to Friday 06:00. 25 days plus bank holidays. Company pension, paid socials and parking.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate 3‑axis CNC milling machines.
• Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Operate Mazak machines with Mazatrol controls and Haas machines.
• Select appropriate tooling for each job.
• Work with the quality team to ensure part conformity and traceability.
• Communicate equipment needs with Engineering & Quality managers.

Key Skills

• Minimum 2 years’ experience operating CNC machinery.
• Proficiency in setting and operating CNC machines, preferably milling.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and work to tight tolerances.
• Experience with 3‑axis milling centres (preferable but not required).
• Basic CNC program editing if required.
• Experience with Fanuc controls is preferable.
• Use of measuring tools – vernier calipers, micrometers.
• Strong communication and record‑keeping.
