Apprentice Quantity Surveyor
Hall & Kay is offering a Level4 Construction Design & Build Technician Apprenticeship in Birmingham. The role will support Quantity Surveyors on real projects and develop skills in cost management, contract law, procurement and financial analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse, prepare and manage project costs from initial assessment through to completion.
- Select and manage suppliers and sub‑contractors, ensuring timely delivery and quality.
- Develop expertise in contracts, financial management and contract law.
- Compile monthly/quarterly data to monitor project performance.
- Gather and assess information on land, property or construction projects.
- Conduct costings, measurements and valuations using research data.
- Purchase materials and services from smaller companies and monitor their performance.
- Ensure payments to suppliers and subcontractors are requested and released on time.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade4 or above, including a grade5 in Maths.
- A Level DD or BTEC National Diploma PPP or Access to HE Diploma with 21 merits, or equivalent level3 qualifications worth 64 UCAS points.
- Enthusiastic and passionate about a career in engineering.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
- Good attendance, self‑discipline, time‑management and ability to meet deadlines.
- Must be at least 18 years old by1September2026.
Apprenticeship Details
- Level4 Construction Design &Build Technician Apprenticeship at Dudley College of Technology.
- Start date: September2026.
- Work on real projects, support Quantity Surveyors, travel within the Birmingham region as required.
- Manage time and commitments to balance study and work.
Remuneration & Benefits
- £22,000 per annum
- 25 days holiday plus bank holidays.
- Option to buy an additional 5 days.
