Job Description:

Main duties of the job

Collect data on all Critical Care Unit admissions for ICNARC (Intensive Care National Audit and Research Centre) from critical care observation charts and Electronic Patient Record (EPR).

Enter data onto Medicus system ensuring a full and accurate record of the patients admission is recorded.

Ensure collection of unit Critical Care Minimum Data Set (CCMDS) and enter this daily on to Medicus database, for Critical Care.

Support the RAE Lead with data validation reports from the Case Mix Programme and amend when appropriate.

Ensure completion of a range of spreadsheets and databases.

Run reports from Medicus on activity related queries when requested.

Ensure attendance at specified Critical Care meetings as well as deputising for Audit Lead for presentation of data at Critical Care Delivery Group.

Take minutes at critical care meetings when requested, such as Intensivist and staff meetings.

Respect confidential information obtained in the course of your duties and upholds the principles of Caldicott and the Data Protection Act.

Maintain effective lines of communication with the teams, providing regular updates to the Audit Lead / Business Support Manager.

To support general administrative tasks within the team as required.

Qualifications & Education

  • ECDL or equivalent
  • NVQ in Business Administration

Knowledge & Experience

  • Previous experience working with clinical audit information
  • Ability to process, analyse & store data.
  • Experience of using Microsoft Office applications with extensive experience of Microsoft Excel.
  • Awareness of Data Protection Act & Caldicott Guidelines
  • Use of Excel Pivot tables to extract / summarise data

  • Ability to plan, monitor and organise own workload.
