People Support Officer, EDI

The purpose of this role is to work in the People Support Team to support colleagues through Inclusion, Engagement and Wellbeing workstreams. This includes engaging clinical and non-clinical staff effectively, planning and facilitating events, supporting colleagues individually and through team initiatives, data collection, analysis, and reporting to inform meaningful and sustainable change.
The role involves cross‑team collaboration, knowledge sharing, and sharing officer workload across Inclusion, Engagement and Wellbeing. A compassionate, inclusive and respectful approach is key, with an emphasis on compassion, support and signposting to appropriate resources when necessary.
This role is a Hybrid role based at University Hospital Coventry, with visits to community sites and the Hospital of St Cross.
This role historically receives a high volume of applications – we plan for interviews to start from 11th June.
Main duties of the job
- Support the implementation of the Inclusion Delivery Plan, working closely with action owners and stakeholders, being accountable for actions and following through until completion.
- Manage translation and interpreting services, including monthly reporting and queries.
- Provide data to support inclusion‑related reporting requirements, ensuring completeness and data quality.
- Provide administrative and coordination support to Staff Networks.
- Lead on planning and facilitating cultural events, awareness campaigns, and workshops.
- Promote inclusive behaviours.
- Work in partnership with other teams (Communications, Occupational Health, Knowledge Services, Chaplaincy, Workforce) to promote inclusion‑focused updates and initiatives.
- Stay updated with inclusion trends and research, applying evidence‑based strategies.
- Support Equality Impact Assessments, reasonable adjustments, policy updates, accreditation applications, FOI responses, Datix and Complaint submissions where inclusion expertise is required.
- Develop accessible materials, posters and act on feedback to improve inclusion‑related communications.
- Engage staff across clinical and non‑clinical areas, sharing initiatives and encouraging participation in networks, events, and surveys.
- Provide supportive conversations, guidance on reasonable adjustments, and signposting to internal and external services (phone, email, walk‑ins).

- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and evaluate ways to enhance PST and inclusive approaches.
- Identify and recommend improvements to existing processes and policies, collaborating with staff and network members.
- Attend training to support utilising organisational tools to identify waste and support continuous improvement.
- Request and submit invoices for management approval for necessary resources and submit to admin.

- Use judgment, initiative and take responsibility for managing daily workload, responding to inquiries, and escalating issues when necessary. Complete all mandatory training.
