About the role
Integrated Maintenance, Repair and Development Services (IMRDS) is the team that maintains our water supply systems, repairs emergencies like water bursts, and develops new ways to better service our customers. This area of Anglian Water has a whole host of roles and opportunities available, from operational frontline work to project management, data analysis and more. IMRDS is part of the Embedded Alliance within Anglian Water, working together with other organisations to form a partnership of skill sharing and using the best person and team for the job.
What you’ll be doing
- Planning and carrying out maintenance of the water network.
- Responding to emergency requirements to maintain the water network.
- Flushing, surveying, leak detection, pressure and flow testing, and valve operations.
- Using asset maps, data and tools to resolve planned and reactive operational problems in a timely manner.
- Liaising with customers and delivering high‑level customer service, keeping them informed.
- Working field‑based, travelling around the region with a fully equipped van, ensuring water quality is maintained.
What it takes to be a Water Network Technician
- Educated to GCSE level (or equivalent).
- Experience of working in an engineering industry, ideally front‑line service.
- Strong technical aptitude.
- Experience of water networks, street works and leakage control.
- Professional contact with customers, able to explain terminology to the public.
- Proven experience of delivering great customer service.
- Flexibility to work a 37‑hour week, standby rota and overtime as required.
