Overview
Occupational Hygiene Technician – Join an enthusiastic and supportive multidisciplinary team at Hinkley Point C, Bridgwater, Somerset. The role focuses on occupational hygiene/health and environmental monitoring in industrial and construction environments.
Responsibilities
- Perform occupational hygiene monitoring and surveys of personnel and site activities for a range of chemical, physical and biological agents.
- Participate in specific occupational hygiene investigations and studies.
- Carry out regular workplace inspections to assess occupational hygiene aspects.
- Assist with the preparation and delivery of training and information materials on occupational hygiene topics.
- Contribute to occupational hygiene performance reports.
Qualifications
- A STEM‑related degree (essential).
- Affiliate member of the Faculty of Occupational Hygiene or working towards the BOHS CertOH (full training can be provided).
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
- IT competency and proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and Teams.
- Ideally at least three years of work experience in industrial and/or construction environments.
Working Hours
This full‑time position (37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday) includes shift work. Shift options:
- Day shifts – 8 am to 4 pm, 30‑minute unpaid lunch.
- Back shifts – 4 pm to 12 am, 30‑minute unpaid lunch.
- Night shifts – 7 pm to 5 am, 38‑minute unpaid lunch (Monday–Thursday).
Enhanced pay for out‑of‑standard hours.
Location
On‑site at Hinkley Point C, Somerset.
