Overview: Pink Tile Education is supporting a welcoming secondary school in Brighton in their search for a passionate and dedicated Behaviour Support Mentor to join their team in September. This is a full‑time permanent position working with students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting behaviour, engagement, and emotional regulation, helping students to re‑engage positively with school life and learning.
Role Responsibilities:
- Support students 1:1 and in small groups who present with SEMH and behavioural needs.
- Build positive, trusting relationships with students to encourage engagement and progress.
- De‑escalate challenging situations using calm, consistent, and professional strategies.
- Support students in reintegrating into mainstream lessons where appropriate.
- Work closely with pastoral, safeguarding, and SEN teams to support student needs.
- Promote positive behaviour strategies, routines, and emotional regulation techniques.
- Support students in developing resilience, self‑confidence, and social skills.
- Assist with monitoring student progress and provide feedback to relevant staff.
- Maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment at all times.
- Uphold school policies and safeguarding procedures consistently.
Ideal Candidate:
- Experience working with young people with SEMH needs and/or challenging behaviour.
- Strong behaviour management and de‑escalation skills.
- Calm, resilient, and confident under pressure.
- Ability to build strong, positive relationships with students.
- Patient, empathetic, and consistent approach to behaviour support.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a wider school team.
- Must hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to obtain one.
