West Berkshire Council is seeking a dedicated and motivated Safeguarding Adults Officer to join our Adult Social Care Service, reporting to the Safeguarding Adults Manager. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the effective safeguarding of adults at risk within our community.
Responsibilities
- Support the Safeguarding Adults Manager in the operational management of the Safeguarding Adults Team.
- Ensure the effective operation and delivery of safeguarding adult services.
- Ensure the requirements of the Safeguarding Adults Board are met in terms of data collection, reporting, and provision of information to the Board.
- Ensure the requirements of the Care Quality Commission are met.
- Ensure the requirements of any other regulatory body are met.
- Ensure the requirements of any national or local policy developments are met.
- Ensure that any local agreements are met.
Qualifications
- Knowledge and experience in safeguarding adults, with a clear understanding of relevant legislation and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with colleagues, partner agencies, and service users.
- Strong assessment and analytical skills, with the ability to evaluate complex information and make informed decisions.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team, as well as independently, demonstrating initiative and self‑motivation.
- Organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver within deadlines.
- Experience providing advice, guidance, and support to colleagues and professionals in relation to safeguarding concerns.
- Maintain continuous registration with the DBS Update Service and be subject to an Enhanced DBS check with relevant Barred Lists.

Wednesday 4 hours, Thursday 7.5 hours, Friday 7 hours.
