Join our dedicated team at the Birmingham Youth Offending Service as a Youth Offending Service Officer. In this pivotal role, you will work collaboratively with young people who have offended or are at risk of offending, providing support and guidance to help them reintegrate into society and make positive choices. Your expertise will contribute to reducing youth crime and supporting families, while promoting social inclusion and community safety.

As a Youth Offending Service Officer, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting assessments and developing tailored intervention plans for young offenders.
  • Engaging with young people, their families, and community resources to facilitate rehabilitation.
  • Monitoring and reviewing progress, ensuring compliance with court orders and support plans.
  • Collaborating with multi-agency teams to coordinate services and interventions.
  • Providing advocacy and support in court proceedings as necessary.

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess essential qualifications and skills, including:

  • A relevant degree in Social Work, Youth Work, or a related field.
  • Experience working with young people in a statutory or voluntary setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse groups.
  • Knowledge of youth justice legislation and safeguarding practices.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and manage a caseload efficiently.
