Role Overview
We are seeking a detail‑oriented and organised Librarian to catalogue and arrange our extensive collection of books in our office. Your primary responsibility will be to implement and maintain a logical organisational system to enhance both storage efficiency and accessibility for all.
Key Responsibilities
- Catalogue all items stored on our office metal shelving.
- Organise shelving using a clear and consistent system, like the Dewey Decimal system.
- Ensure all materials are logically arranged and easy to locate.
- Label shelves and contents as needed to maintain a seamless organisation.
- Review and optimise existing storage processes for improved efficiency.
- Maintain the organisation system on an ongoing basis, ensuring everything is in its rightful place.
Required Experience & Skills
- Previous experience in a library setting is preferred, especially in cataloguing books.
- Strong organisational skills with an exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to create and implement structured systems independently.
- Good problem‑solving skills and a practical, proactive approach.
- Comfortable working with physical inventory and office storage.
- Basic IT skills (e.g., Excel or simple tracking systems) are beneficial.
Desirable (Not Essential)
- Experience with cataloguing systems (e.g., library, archive, or stock systems).
- Familiarity with structured filing methods (alphabetical, numerical, categorical frameworks).
- A methodical and highly organised mindset.
- Reliable and able to work autonomously.
- A practical and hands‑on approach to tasks.
