About the role:
A well‑established and forward‑thinking secondary school in Leeds is seeking a Mathematics Specialist to join their team on a full‑time, long‑term basis from September 2026. You’ll be teaching Maths across KS3 and KS4, helping students build confidence, secure core skills, and develop a genuine interest in the subject. The school offers a supportive environment with strong leadership and a collaborative maths department committed to high‑quality teaching and learning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver well‑structured, engaging Maths lessons across KS3–KS4.
- Plan, assess, and track student progress in line with curriculum expectations.
- Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that supports learners of all abilities.
- Contribute to curriculum development, resource planning, and departmental initiatives.
- Maintain strong behaviour management and uphold safeguarding standards.
- Work closely with colleagues, support staff, and parents/carers to promote strong academic outcomes.
Pre‑requisites:
- Strong subject knowledge and previous experience teaching Mathematics at secondary level.
- QTS, QTLS, or a relevant FE teaching qualification.
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
- A passion for Maths and the ability to communicate concepts clearly and confidently.
- A strong classroom presence with effective behaviour management skills.
- Commitment to a full‑time role from September 2026.
