Driver Hire Edinburgh City is currently looking for experienced and professional Class 1 (C+E) Drivers to support a range of well‑established clients across Edinburgh and nearby areas.
Whether you’re looking for ongoing full‑time work, extra shifts each week, or flexible ad‑hoc driving opportunities, we have plenty of work available with competitive pay and consistent hours.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Completing trunking and palletised delivery work
- Transporting goods between depots, distribution centres, and customer sites
- Carrying out daily vehicle checks and defect reporting
- Completing delivery paperwork accurately
- Following all driving regulations and health & safety procedures
- Minimal manual handling involved on most assignments
Flexible Shift Patterns
- Day shifts
- Back shifts
- Occasional night shifts
- Weekday and weekend work available
- Shifts tailored around your availability
- Typical shifts between 8‑12 hours
Excellent Rates of Pay
PAYE
- £15.50 per hour
- £20.66 per hour after 8 hours
PAYE Advanced
- £17.37 per hour
- £23.15 per hour after 8 hours
Minimum 8 hours guaranteed per shift. Weekly pay every week. Overtime opportunities available. Holiday pay included in PAYE Advanced rate.
What We’re Looking For
- Valid UK Class 1 (Category C+E) licence
- Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph card
- Maximum 9 penalty points with no major endorsements
- Minimum 1 year HGV driving experience preferred
- Professional, reliable, and customer‑focused attitude
Drug & alcohol testing may be completed during induction and randomly throughout employment.
