Section Manager – Travel and Tourism
Location: Uxbridge Campus. Salary: £47,939 – £52,165. Status: Full time / permanent, 36 hours per week.
Responsibilities
Plan, implement and deliver courses across the Travel and Tourism section.
- Develop course provision and curriculum, including core and vocational programmes.
- Teach on a range of programmes and support staff teaching practice.
- Line manage and mentor a team of teaching staff.
- Co‑ordinate curriculum and staffing arrangements for mainstream, work‑based learning and commercial courses.
- Act as a role model for lecturers and deputise for the Head of School in carrying out duties.
- Review and assess performance, engage in pedagogic debate, and promote inclusive learning.
- Ensure student recruitment, retention and achievement within your area of responsibility.
Qualifications
- Degree or appropriate qualification in a relevant subject area.
- Full Level 5 teaching qualification recognised by the FE sector (e.g. DET, PGCE).
- Minimum of 2 years’ recent teaching experience in Travel and Tourism.
- Experience delivering BTEC and NCFE programmes.
- Team leadership or supervisory experience.
- Curriculum management and coordination experience.
- Understanding of quality assurance.
- Experience in a relevant vocational industry.
- Good communication, interpersonal and IT skills.
- Ability to inspire learners, maintain high teaching standards and provide tutoring experience.
- Willingness to undertake minibus driving training (clean driving licence).

Course Offerings
Current full‑time courses: NCFE Levels 1–3 and Pearson BTEC HNC and HND – International Travel & Tourism Management.
Next academic year will include Levels 1–3 NCFE, Travel and Tourism Aviation and Cabin Crew, and BTEC Level 3 Aviation.
Maths and English at GCSE and Functional Skill levels are also delivered for full‑time students where necessary.
