Receptionist

A414 QDU is a highly efficient Endoscopy and Day Case Unit that provides a full range of diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures. The unit manages day surgery cases pre‑ and post‑operatively.
Job Responsibilities
- Attend patients on arrival and verify their identification, medical and insurance details.
- Inform nursing or clinical staff of required support.
- Handle enquiries face‑to‑face and over the telephone.
- Coordinate transport and other arrangements for patients.
- Book appointments and perform other clerical duties as required.
- Maintain accurate patient records and update information when necessary.
Qualifications
- GCSE E in English language and Maths Grade C or above (or equivalent).
Skills and Abilities
- Excellent and professional telephone and reception manner.
- Flexible approach to duties and ability to meet deadlines while maintaining high accuracy.
- Good IT skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Confidence to handle difficult conversations with patients, relatives and carers.
- Ability to work effectively in a busy team, adapt to change and motivate others.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Knowledge and Experience
- Clerical / administration experience including filing and/or reception.
- Previous NHS experience.
- Previous receptionist experience in a healthcare or public setting.
