Student Support Assistant – Level 1
Location: St Bernard’s Catholic High School, Rotherham
Contract: Part time, Permanent, 27.5 hrs/week, Term Time only
Start Date: 01 September 2026
Reporting to: SEND Co‑ordinator
Closing Date: Thursday 18 June 2026 at 9am

We are seeking a Student Support Assistant to work under the direction of teaching staff and the SEND Co‑ordinator to support access to learning for students.
Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of lessons and activities for students with diverse learning needs.
- Assist with individual planning and progress monitoring.
- Maintain a calm, well‑disciplined learning environment.
- Provide care, guidance and support throughout the school day.
- Work collaboratively with staff to maximise educational outcomes.
Qualifications and Experience
- Passion for supporting children of all abilities and backgrounds.
- High expectations for student achievement.
- Empathy, creativity and forward‑thinking approach.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Supportive of the school’s Catholic ethos (practicing Catholic not required).
