Part-Time Cleaner

Job Overview

This is a permanent part‑time position working 25 hours per week Monday to Friday. The salary is £16930.65 per annum.

Responsibilities

• Clean designated areas of student accommodation including bedrooms, bathrooms, shower rooms, kitchens and all white goods contained in the kitchens
• Vacuum, spot clean and shampoo carpets
• Sweep and polish floors and clean stairs
• Wash walls, doors, furniture, radiators, lampshades as appropriate
• Empty waste bins and remove rubbish from flats to bin store areas
• During the summer season only: make beds, including stripping and changing sheeting; collect laundered linen from store, bag and pack laundry for collection
• Clean internal and external windows where applicable
• Clean and wash glasses, cutlery and cooking utensils as appropriate
• Daily liaison with residents, Residence Managers and associated staff
• Act in accordance with all Health & Safety policies and practices at all times
• Be prepared to work at other sites and for additional hours when required, especially during main student arrival and departure weekends

Qualifications

• Experience of cleaning in a similar environment
• Excellent communication and organisational skills with attention to detail
• Good conversational standard of the English language and ability to read and interpret Health & Safety guidance
• Prepared to work at other sites and for additional hours when required
• Subject to satisfactory vetting, including employment referencing and possibly a basic DBS check
