About Aberlour’s Mother and Child Recovery House
Aberlour is working with the Scottish Government to operate a dedicated Mother and Child Residential Recovery House based in Dundee. The service enables children of women with problematic substance use to stay with their mothers during recovery.
Role: Residential Support Worker (Nights)
We are looking to recruit a Residential Support Worker (Nights) to join a trauma‑responsive team delivering and implementing residential recovery support for women and their children (0‑5 years) to help them reach their aspirations.
Responsibilities
- Provide residential recovery support to women and their children.
- Deliver the daily care and routines necessary for a safe, nurturing environment.
- Collaborate with other professional agencies and team members to support recovery and wellbeing.
- Contribute to shift reports and other administrative duties as required.
Working Hours and Shifts
- Average of 35 hours per week over a two‑week rota.
- Week 1: 3 × 10‑hour shifts (Wednesday, Thursday, Friday).
- Week 2: 4 × 10‑hour shifts (Monday, Tuesday, Saturday, Sunday).
Qualifications
- Relevant professional qualification at least SCQF level 7, or equivalent knowledge.
- Willingness to obtain required qualifications for SSSC Registration.
- Experience working directly with vulnerable families to support women and children.
- Experience collaborating with other professional agencies and knowledge of drug/alcohol use and its impacts.
- Lived experience of alcohol or drug use is strongly encouraged.
