Job Description:

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established and growing construction business specialising in modular construction, civil engineering, and infrastructure projects.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded professional to play a key role in the successful delivery of high-value projects, managing all aspects of cost control, procurement, valuations, and financial reporting from inception through to completion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take full commercial responsibility for allocated projects.
  • Prepare accurate measurements, valuations, variations, interim applications, and final accounts.
  • Produce Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and monitor project budgets to ensure financial targets are achieved.
  • Manage subcontractor accounts, valuations, and payments.
  • Monitor cash flow and support effective cash collection processes.
  • Attend regular commercial and finance meetings, providing accurate project reporting.
  • Support business development activities and contribute to identifying new opportunities.
  • Provide regular commercial updates and reports to senior management.

Candidate Requirements

Essential

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Quantity Surveying role within the construction industry.
  • Proven track record of successful project delivery.
  • Strong commercial awareness and cost management skills.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication abilities.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple projects and deadlines.

Desirable

  • Significant experience working on groundwork, drainage, excavation, civil engineering, and infrastructure projects.
  • Qualification in Quantity Surveying or membership of a relevant professional body.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, techniques, and associated costs.
  • Knowledge of construction contracts, contractual obligations, breaches, and remedies.
  • Familiarity with a range of procurement routes and industry best practices.
  • Awareness of current construction legislation and regulatory developments.
  • Experience using estimating software such as Conquest.
