Job Title: Process Safety Lead

Location: Royston, Hertfordshire, UK (Hybrid – 2 days per week at home)

Overview

As a Site Process Safety Lead at Johnson Matthey, you will support the Site Process Safety Programme, improve PSRM practices, and drive consistent behaviours to control process safety risk and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the point of contact for the PGMS Site on Process Safety Plan and related strategy.
• Own and manage the local PGMS Process Safety Strategy.
• Support local Project Engineering and Management of Change teams with site‑based PSM guidance.
• Be the primary resource for studies in the local site PHR and LOPA plans.
• Deliver assurance activities within the local site.
• Engage regularly with Business PSM Team and Group PSM Team.
• Develop a local Process Safety Management meeting with the Site Manager and Site Engineering Manager.
• Support site preparation and delivery of regulator inspections.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Knowledge and experience in Process Safety Management.
• Previous experience in a chemical or pharmaceutical industry.
• Knowledge/experience in COMAH and working at an upper‑tier COMAH site.
• Experience managing significant change within an organisation.
• Competence in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Decision‑making skills related to Process Safety Assessments and associated escalation.
