Job Title: Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Technician

Location: Skinningrove, Saltburn‑by‑the‑Sea

Salary: 49,500 pa

Working Hours

Full Time Permanent; 4 on, 4 off shift pattern.

  • 2 × day shifts

Job Description

As a Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Technician, you will play a key role in ensuring maximum uptime across a fast‑paced manufacturing facility.

  • Carry out planned preventative and reactive maintenance
  • Fault find across electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
  • Diagnose issues on PLC, CNC, and electronic control systems
  • Read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics
  • Support continuous improvement through root cause analysis and corrective actions
  • Work closely with production and engineering teams to maximise equipment availability
  • Support site projects and machinery upgrades
  • Identify cost‑saving and efficiency improvement opportunities
  • Promote a strong safety‑first culture across the facility

Skills & Experience

  • NVQ Level 3, time‑served apprenticeship, or equivalent engineering qualification
  • Strong multi‑skilled maintenance experience within manufacturing
  • Electrical and mechanical fault‑finding expertise
  • PLC, CNC, and automation systems experience
  • Ability to read schematics and ladder logic
  • Proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work independently and within a team

Desirable

  • 18th Edition qualification
  • Hydraulic and mechanical systems expertise
  • ABB robotics experience
  • IOSH / NEBOSH or strong safety improvement exposure
  • Forklift, MEWP, or driving licence
