About The Role

As a Resource Planning Manager, you will lead and coordinate short‑ and mid‑range workforce planning at Gatwick Airport, ensuring forecasted demand translates into efficient, deliverable staffing plans. You will work closely with the Operational Excellence team to adapt demand forecasts into practical, demand‑led resourcing solutions that reflect real‑time operational needs.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare workforce plans and rosters that deliver the right level of coverage across all locations, aligned to demand, service standards, and compliance requirements.
  • Design rostering approaches that maximise productivity and minimise over/under‑staffing through effective use of core hours, shift design, and workforce availability.
  • Manage overtime and short‑term resourcing proactively to maintain service while controlling cost.
  • Execute agile short‑term planning to enable the operation to adapt quickly to changing conditions.
  • Make planning decisions informed by accurate data and insight, driving continuous improvement in performance and efficiency.

What We Are Looking For

  • Proven experience in workforce or resource planning within a fast‑paced, operational environment
  • Strong understanding of rostering, scheduling, and workforce optimisation
  • Experience managing overtime planning and cost control
  • Confident working with forecasted demand and translating this into practical staffing plans
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills (essential), with the ability to manage and analyse workforce data
  • Experience producing reports and insights to support decision‑making
  • Good understanding of working time regulations, compliance, and operational constraints
  • Analytical and solution‑focused mindset
  • Strong communicator
