Join us as a Quality Control Manager for Floplast in Sittingbourne

FloPlast is a leading manufacturer of plastic building and plumbing systems for the UK construction sector, specialising in roofline products such as rainwater systems and PVC-UE cellular foam fascia, soffit & cladding systems, as well as a wide range of waste, soil, underground drainage and hot & cold plumbing systems. FloPlast is a division of Wienerberger UK & Ireland.

About The Role

You will oversee the QC function within the business and assist the IMS Quality Manager in applying quality and R&D strategies. You will be responsible for managing the QC team, ensuring the implementation of and adherence to all company and factory control procedures to comply with statutory requirements of Health & Safety, Environment and Quality.

This is a full‑time position working Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm with a daily unpaid break of 30 minutes.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Manage and support the development of the QC team.
  • Train staff on all quality related topics.
  • Ensure products, raw materials, components, and traded goods meet required quality standards.
  • Lead root‑cause investigations using problem‑solving tools.
  • Manage the NCR process, including defect handling (rework, reject, accept).
  • Track and analyse KPIs and quality metrics and share findings with Operations teams.
  • Maintain close collaboration with Operations teams.
  • Support manufacturing and engineering teams to ensure quality is designed into processes and products.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality and reduce scrap.
  • Ensure departmental welfare is maintained by risk‑assessing tasks and maintaining SOPs.
  • Manage quality related communication with customers.
  • Report all incidents or accidents through the correct channel.

About You

You’ll have good experience working as part of a quality team in a manufacturing environment, as well as proven experience of managing a team, knowledge of ISO 9001 and working with certified products.

  • Lean 6‑sigma.
  • 5S internal auditor.
  • Worked with SAP.
