In addition to a competitive salary, you’ll benefit from a comprehensive benefits package including Private medical insurance, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays and a supportive environment that offers support and development opportunities.This is a priority role with a fast-growing, established manufacturing business based in Gloucestershire.Key Responsibilities –Engineering ManagerLead and manage day-to-day design office activities, including resource allocation, team meetings, design reviews, and project handoversEnsure project designs are delivered accurately, on time, and within agreed budgetsWork with Design Section Managers to design, develop, and manage projects from concept through to commissioningDrive continuous improvement of design processes, systems, procedures, and standards across engineering teamsEnsure consistent and effective use of engineering systemsWork closely with the Electrical & Controls Manager to ensure mechanical and electrical designs are aligned, complete, and compatibleEnsure seamless integration of mechanical, electrical, and PLC elements across all designsSupport Aftermarket teams with timely release of assemblies and identification of long-term sparesPromote strong collaboration between Design and Production teams to resolve build issues and improve manufacturabilityDevelop and track departmental KPIs covering milestones, release dates, late changes, and design qualityIdentify engineering problems and implement effective engineering solutionsEnhance machine functionality and safety through risk assessments aligned to UK safety standards and customer requirementsProvide technical support to customers and attend site when requiredSupport Design Managers with recruitment, development, and career progression of engineersDrive development of robust, commercially viable machinery designed for 24/7, three-shift operationEnsure designs meet energy efficiency, reliability, and UK Health & Safety requirementsWork closely with other departments including Tooling, Electrical, and Test to inspect completed productsCollaborate with Technical Publications to ensure manuals, spares lists, and documentation are complete and up to dateQualifications & Requirements – Engineering ManagerMinimum of 10 years’ practical design engineering experience.Fully conversant with mechanical and electrical engineering techniques and equipmentStrong leadership, mentoring, and people management skillsProven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities under pressureStrong organisational, communication, and interpersonal skillsAbility to react positively and calmly to changing demandsEffective problem-solving skills with a structured, analytical approachExperience performing design calculations for mechanical components, drives, and structuresStrong ability to communicate ideas and lead teams through full machine development cyclesProficient in SolidWorksFlexible, proactive, and commercially aware approachBe available for international travelWhat we can offer – Engineering ManagerCompetitive salaryCompany pension planGroup life assurance and income protectionPrivate medical insuranceEmployee incentive planFlexible working options, including a 9-day fortnight (work 9 days over 2 weeks, with every other Friday off)EV car & bike to work schemesRewards – Celebrating Our PeopleFor more information on this role, please contact Paul Furlong on or send a copy of your CV toCandidates who are currently a Design manager, Engineering Lead, Engineering Manager or Principal Engineer may be suitable for this role.For details of other opportunities available within your chosen field please visit our websiteOmega is acting as an Employment Agency in relation to this vacancy. xcswzye Omega does not charge candidates any recruitment or job-seeking fees at any stage of the hiring process….
