Department Overview
The supply chain strategy and operations department is responsible for the provision of expert supply chain strategy and operational advice to clients that function within a fast‑moving global environment. The team is made up of subject‑matter experts who work under an Account Director to deliver the client mandate. Working together but often independently, each consultant is expected to work onsite and remotely with the client on complex engagements.

Job Overview / Introduction
The Training Senior Consultant may contribute to organisational transformation initiatives across industries and clients but will have a focus on delivering high‑quality training within the Defence environment. This role requires expertise in the design and delivery of training, stakeholder engagement, and consultancy delivery to deliver high‑quality training services within a fast‑paced consultancy environment. It is likely that the role owner will have broader experience that is pertinent to either the Supply Chain, and/or Programme Management capabilities.
As a Senior Consultant at Squarcle, you will play a pivotal role in providing guidance and expertise to clients across various industries. You will be responsible for delivering complex client engagements that identify, design, and implement creative optimisation and transformation solutions. With your experience, you will support business development efforts, be responsible for mentoring junior consultants, and support the success of the consulting practice.

Primary Roles and Responsibilities
- Training Needs Analysis (TNA) and Training expertise
- Develop TNA and training delivery planning in a complex transformation environment.
- Implement the Defence Training Delivery Process (DSAT) in a complex programme.
- Develop training products, methods and innovations tailored to identified user groups.
- Develop complex organisation requirements into training solutions.
- Synchronise training plans using established planning tools.
- Manage risk associated to aspects of training (Analysis, Design, Delivery, Assurance).
- Produce artefacts to document and support the implementation of training strategy.
- Internal Training and Capability Building
- Design and deliver internal training programs, toolkits, and resources to one or more capability that of their specialisation.
- Monitoring and Reporting
- Define and track KPIs to measure the success of initiatives.
- Provide regular progress reports and insights to project teams and senior leaders, ensuring transparency and accountability.
- Squarcle Management Responsibilities
- Support the internal staffing processes including performance management of assigned individuals.
- Encourage effective working in diverse teams within an inclusive team culture where people are recognised for their contribution.
- Conduct performance reviews and annual appraisals for performance appraisees.
- Lead, coach and mentor team members.
- Adhere to the Squarcle policies and processes, ensuring engagements are delivered in accordance with the four phases of an engagement lifecycle.
- Client Engagement and Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, acting as a trusted advisor and ensuring buy‑in for case for change and delivery approach.
- Advanced facilitation and coaching capabilities to drive engagement and alignment.
- Ensure high client satisfaction through effective communication and timely delivery of project milestones and deliverables.
- Business Development
- Contribute to the sales and bid processes.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive landscape.
- Leverage your network to expand the client base.
- Maintain and develop relationships with key clients and promote continue to promote Squarcle Consulting.
- Team Leadership and Mentorship
- Mentor and develop junior consultants, assisting in their professional growth.
- Conduct performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and identify training needs.
- Foster knowledge sharing and best practices within the consulting team.
Secondary Roles and Responsibilities
- Support wider thought leadership initiatives by contributing to the development of the Squarcle Consulting practice.
- Participate in professional development activities, such as attending seminars or pursuing relevant certifications.
- Assist with the Squarcle recruitment and retention activities.
- Support the development of Squarcle policies and processes.
- Fulfil additional management responsibilities as outlined and agreed with the Head of Consulting.
Essential
- Degree or post graduate level qualification
- Management Consulting Experience: Minimum 5+ years of experience in a management consultancy or equivalent environment.
- Experience of developing DSAT compliant TNA and training delivery plans.
- Proven track record of leading complex, large‑scale change initiatives across multiple industries.
- Demonstrated ability to craft and deliver impactful communication strategies.
- Experience of managing and influencing senior internal and external stakeholders in a complex and challenging environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to work in multi‑disciplinary environments.
- An understanding of the Defence or Public Sector.
- Relevant experience of managing a decentralised team.
- Exceptional problem‑solving skills – an analytical, innovative, and creative mindset.
- Exceptional client service.
- Knowledge of the Microsoft Suite; specifically Excel and PowerPoint.
- A worthy team player dedicated to contributing toward the outcome desired by the team.
- Successful candidates must be prepared to apply for, and pass security clearance, before they are appointed.
- Flexibility to travel as needed to client sites.
Desirable
- Project Management, Agile, or Lean Six Sigma certifications.
- Understanding of supply chain operations.

This role requires you have lived in the UK for the last 5 years and obtain Security Check (SC) security clearance. Clearance must be obtained without any caveats that prevent you from carrying out the role you’ve been recruited for.
