Senior Environments Engineer
Location: Hybrid working role. Whiteley, Hampshire
Clearance Required: SC clearance required and maintained.
The Role
We are seeking a Senior Environments Engineer to manage and coordinate a range of test and production environments supporting a nationally significant service. You will play a key role in ensuring environments are effectively scheduled, maintained and aligned to programme priorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate all environment activities, including scheduling, bookings and conflict resolution.
- Lead environment planning meetings and ensure activities are prioritised effectively.
- Work closely with technical teams, suppliers and stakeholders to support installs, maintenance and testing.
- Monitor and assess the impact of network and infrastructure changes on environment availability.
- Support data setup and ensure compatibility with latest builds.
Testing & Validation
- Plan and execute Build Verification Testing (manual and automated).
- Validate new builds, including integration elements, prior to release to test teams.
- Produce clear and concise test reports.
Support & Governance
- Support user validation and shadowing sessions, troubleshooting issues as required.
- Attend key programme and technical meetings to maintain an accurate environment schedule.
- Raise and manage change requests to ensure activities are aligned and not impacted.
- Support Test Readiness Reviews (TRRs).
Skills & Experience
- Experience managing environments, ideally as an Environment Manager/Lead or within a Test Lead role.
- Strong understanding of networking and its impact on environments.
- Knowledge of version and configuration control, remote access solutions, Linux and VMware (vSphere), ITIL / ServiceNow.
- Understanding of Air Traffic Control (ATC) or similar complex systems (desirable).

- Strong understanding of the development and test lifecycle.
- Confident communicator, able to work with technical teams, stakeholders and end users.

Pay Range
£61,500.00-£78,800.00
