II. Position Summary: 

The Account Executive is a key delivery role within our client teams, supporting the execution of bold, earned-first campaigns across sport, culture and entertainment.

This role is responsible for laying the foundations for great PR, from crafting compelling media materials and pitching to journalists to maintaining trackers, supporting live events, and ensuring campaigns run smoothly behind the scenes. The Account Executive plays a hands-on role in bringing ideas to life, contributing to creative thinking while ensuring detail and discipline in delivery.

Curious, organised and proactive, the Account Executive is expected to develop strong media relationships, learn the commercial mechanics of agency life, and build the skills required to progress into an Account Manager role.

III. Essential Functions

Client Management & Delivery 

  • Act as primary day-to-day contact for clients
  • Build trusted, proactive relationships
  • Lead weekly client calls and status reporting
  • Manage project timelines and ensure delivery to the deadline
  • Anticipate challenges and propose solutions early
  • Ensure campaigns align with agreed objectives and KPI

Campaign Execution

  • Lead the development and rollout of earned-first campaigns
  • Draft and oversee press materials (releases, pitches, Q&As, media alerts, briefing docs)
  • Manage influencer and talent coordination where relevant
  • Support content planning for social and publisher distribution
  • Drive proactive media engagement with national, sport, lifestyle and digital press
  • Ensure measurement frameworks are implemented from launch

Media & Cultural Intelligence

  • Maintain strong relationships with key journalists and publishers
  • Stay ahead of trends in sport, media and culture
  • Identify reactive opportunities aligned with client moments
  • Ensure storytelling is culturally relevant and newsworthy

IV. Qualifications and Experience 

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent qualification).
  • Minimum of 3-5 years relevant agency experience across PR and Communications 
  • Excellent communicator with the ability to influence and build trust at senior levels.
  • Commercially minded, with experience managing budgets, scopes, and profitability.
  • A natural leader who thrives in fast-paced environments and inspires teams to deliver their best work.
  • Specific experience in leading sport campaigns and partnerships for major B2C and B2B brands
  • Deep knowledge and experience of working with talent and rights holders
  • Understanding of the influencer marketing landscape with a demonstrative track record of success 

V. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong understanding of the UK media landscape (national, sport, lifestyle, digital, social publishers)
  • Knowledge of how earned media integrates with social, influencer and content distribution
  • Working knowledge of media monitoring and evaluation metrics (reach, engagement, OTS, sentiment, etc.)
  • Understanding of influencer contracting, usage rights and content approvals
  •  Confident running client calls, presenting updates and managing expectations
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously
  • Strong pitching ability and journalist relationship-building
  • Clear, compelling and newsworthy copywriting (press releases, media pitches, briefings)

VIII. Compensation and Working Conditions

  • This is a permanent position

  • Role will be based in Soapbox London’s office (nearest stations are Borough and London Bridge)
  • Working hours are 9:30 – 17:30, Monday to Friday
  • Occasional travel and weekend work may be required
