Role: Children’s Support Worker (Orchard Court)
Location: Mirfield, WF14 0DQ
Salary: £12.81 per hour
Hours: Part-time and full-time (22.5hrs – 37.5hrs). Alternating weekends.
Job Overview
Our Children’s Service in Mirfield is looking for Support Workers to help children with complex needs at Orchard Court, a residential home with seven wheelchair‑adapted, en‑suite rooms fitted with tracking hoists. The home provides a structured, warm environment that encourages learning, creativity and well‑being.
Key Responsibilities
Day‑to‑day holistic support for children and young people following the eight intrinsic principles. Build trust, encourage positive routines and help each child develop confidence and life skills. The role involves day shifts only, mornings and afternoons, with alternate weekend working. Once settled, long shifts may be available.
Qualifications and Requirements
- At least 6 months of UK-based work experience in any sector.
- Enhanced DBS check (initial DBS). The trust will pay the DBS cost unless the candidate has a portable DBS; leave within 12 months will incur a £58.90 deduction.
- No sponsorship for the role.
