What you will do
- Undertake assessments of prospective adopters, including completion of Prospective Adopter Reports and presenting them to the Adoption Panel
- Support family finding and matching processes for children with adoption plans, ensuring timely permanence outcomes and minimising delay
- Provide post‑adoption support, advice, and intervention to adoptive families, children, and birth relatives where appropriate
- Undertake direct work with children to understand their wishes, feelings, identity, and life story needs as part of permanence planning
Person Specification
Qualifications
- Degree in Social Work (BA/MA or equivalent)
- Evidence of continued professional development relevant to adoption and permanence practice
Registration & Compliance
- Registered with Social Work England
- Strong knowledge of the Adoption and Children Act 2002, Children Act 1989/2004, and Adoption Agencies Regulations 2005
- Understanding of permanence planning, attachment theory, and safeguarding frameworks
