• 1 x 37‑hour post• 2 x relief posts• 21 Huntley Avenue short‑breaks service based in Penrith, Cumbria—providing residential care for children and young people with learning & physical disabilities, autism, complex needs and behaviours that challenge.• Inclusive activities, outings, and adventurous events are organised to enrich the daily lives of residents.
Responsibilities
- Deliver high‑quality support to children and young people with SEND.
- Assess individual needs and implement care plans/programmes.
- Provide supervision and support across daily activities.
- Arrange and lead engaging activities such as go‑karting, theme parks and adventure days.
- Advocate for the voice of residents in all aspects of their care planning.
Qualifications
- Experience working with children and young people with disabilities, preferably in a residential setting.
- Level 3 in Residential Childcare desirable; willing to pursue qualification welcomed.
- Knowledge of behaviour management for challenging behaviours.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships with residents, families and team members.
