Job Description:

£14.00‑£16.00 per hour, Double time for bank holidays.

Pay & Schedule

  • Part‑time: 24 hours / 2 shifts per week
  • Full‑time: 36 hours / 3 shifts per week
  • Day Shifts: 08:00‑20:00
  • Waking Night Shift: 20:00‑08:00
  • Sleepover Shift: 20:00‑08:00 (includes sleepover from midnight to 08:00)
  • Bank Holidays and weekend work form part of the rota
  • Rates are paid £1.00 per hour less during probationary period

Job Purpose

To support your client with their day‑to‑day living, promoting independence and ensuring safety and wellbeing at all times.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide personal care and medication support.
  • Assist with daily living tasks and household duties.
  • Implement therapy and communication programs in collaboration with Speech and Language Therapy, Physiotherapy, and Hydrotherapy teams.
  • Accompany the client on outings and occasional family holidays.
  • Provide practical support for the client and their family, such as helping with personal care, household tasks and paperwork.
  • Encourage and support the client in everyday home, social, leisure and work activities according to their choice.
  • Support and monitor healthcare needs, including administering medication and other clinical tasks.
  • Facilitate access to community facilities and inclusion in community groups.
  • Adapt communication style to meet the client’s needs.
  • Keep accurate, up‑to‑date records of all care provided.
  • Collaborate positively with other professionals, such as doctors and therapists.
  • Maintain confidentiality and discretion at all times.
  • Participate in learning and development opportunities as required.
  • Perform any other duties deemed reasonable by the Registered Manager.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Warm, positive, and approachable with good awareness and sensitivity to surroundings.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to drive the client’s adapted vehicle.
  • Flexible, reliable and committed; proactive, positive and enthusiastic.
  • Comfortable working in a client’s home with pets.
  • Experience of working in complex care and/or with challenging behaviour (preferred).
