Role Overview

Abbeycare supports individuals in their own homes, assisting those with a variety of health needs, including learning disabilities, mental health issues, physical disabilities, and those requiring assistance with personal care. We are seeking dedicated Support Workers to join our team and help make a real difference in the lives of the individuals we support.

Responsibilities

  • Support individuals to live independently by encouraging and assisting with daily activities such as meal preparation, budgeting, and personal care.
  • Administering medication: follow medication protocols, ensuring medication is administered accurately and on time.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and accessible home; assist individuals in keeping their living environment tidy and organised.
  • Promote healthy relationships by encouraging and supporting positive relationships with family, friends, and the wider community.
  • Provide practical and emotional support for day-to-day activities, including shopping, appointments, social activities, and hobbies.
  • Assist individuals in accessing community resources and activities to enhance social inclusion and wellbeing.
  • Occasionally accompany individuals outside the home for activities such as hospital visits, holidays, or appointments at police stations.
  • Support each individual in ways that respect personal preferences, choices, and independence.
  • Regularly report on progress and ensure care plans are followed.

Role Details

Role Type: Part Time and Full Time positions available.

Hours: 24-40 hours per week (minimum 24 hours).

Shift Patterns: Vary; please discuss at interview.

Location: Sheffield.

  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent) is desirable.
