Join Our Team as a CASUAL Cookie Production Operative

We’re looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our friendly Production team on a CASUAL basis, supporting our busy bakery during peak periods.

Hours of Work

Day Shift: 07:00 – 17:30Working Pattern: Monday to Friday (with one day off in the week, this will be TBC)Hourly Rate: £13.55 (Band 2)

Important: This is CASUAL employment

This role is offered on a casual basis, meaning:

  • Shifts are offered in line with business needs
  • There is no guarantee of ongoing or fixed hours
  • Hours may vary from week to week

While casual roles can sometimes lead to permanent opportunities, this cannot be guaranteed.

The Role: What You’ll Be Doing

  • Work within a busy bakery production environment producing cookies in large volumes
  • Accurately measure and mix ingredients using standardised recipes
  • Operate and monitor bakery equipment such as mixers, ovens, and cooling racks
  • Portion, shape, bake and package cookies efficiently while maintaining quality
  • Monitor baking times and temperatures to ensure consistency
  • Identify and resolve production issues quickly to avoid delays
  • Maintain a clean and hygienic production area throughout your shift
  • Follow strict cleaning schedules and food hygiene protocols
  • Clean equipment, utensils, and surfaces to food safety standards
  • Manage waste disposal and restock cleaning supplies as needed
  • Carry out regular quality checks for taste, texture, and appearance
  • Ensure consistent portion sizes, shape, and finish
  • Report and address any quality concerns promptly
  • Adhere to food safety regulations and allergen-handling procedures
  • Ensure correct storage of ingredients and finished products
  • Wear appropriate PPE and maintain accurate records where required

  • Experience in food production or manufacturing is desirable but not essential
