Job Title: Young Adult Support Worker (Permanent)

Pay Rate: £12.80 per hour plus sleep-in rates

Shifts: Day shifts and sleep-in shifts required
About the Role
We are recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate Young Adult Support Worker to join our team in Grantham. This role involves working directly within a young person’s home, supporting young adults who are transitioning from children’s residential care into semi-independent living.
You will support individuals to develop essential life skills, build confidence, and increase their independence in a safe and supportive environment. You will work closely with a multi-disciplinary team to deliver consistent, person-centred care tailored to individual needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Support young adults with daily living activities including cooking, cleaning, personal care where required and budgeting
- Promote independence and life skills development
- Provide emotional and behavioural support, including managing challenging behaviour
- Work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team including social workers and other professionals
- Support attendance at education, appointments and community activities
- Maintain accurate records in line with care plans and organisational policies
- Promote a safe, supportive and positive home environment
About You
- Experience working with young people or vulnerable adults is essential
- Experience supporting individuals with challenging behaviour is required
- Patient, resilient and able to remain calm under pressure
- Strong communication and relationship‑building skills
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexible to work day shifts and sleep‑in shifts
Requirements
- Previous experience in a similar support or care role
- Understanding of safeguarding and person-centred care
- Willingness to work within a residential home setting
- Enhanced DBS check required or willingness to obtain one
