About The Role
Location: Wombwell, Barnsley
Hours: Part-time or full-time considered
We are looking to recruit a compassionate and dedicated support worker to support a gentleman living at Low Laithes, our adult residential service in Wombwell, Barnsley.
You will play a vital role in delivering person-centred care, supporting an individual to live a meaningful, fulfilling life tailored to his preferences, routines, and goals.
The gentleman you’ll be supporting is polite, with a warm sense of humour that shines through once trust is built. He enjoys being active outdoors, playing games, engaging with sensory activities, relaxing with DVDs, and sharing good-quality meals.
He benefits from a calm, predictable environment and values relationships with staff who understand him well and support him consistently.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Providing high-quality, person-centred support tailored to individual needs
- Supporting a structured daily routine that promotes wellbeing and independence
- Encouraging participation in outdoor and physical activities
- Supporting communication using a calm, clear, and consistent approach
- Enabling choice in a manageable and supportive way
- Building a trusted, positive relationship with the individual and their family
About You
We’re looking for someone who embodies values of respect, kindness, integrity, and empowerment.
You will be calm, patient, and compassionate, with a gentle and respectful communication style. You will be consistent and reliable, enjoy being active, and be committed to delivering individualised, high-quality care.
A full UK driving licence is ESSENTIAL
