The Role

This role aims to provide a quality domestic service to the hospital or CHP premises, ensuring that a clean and safe environment is maintained for patients, staff and visitors.

This role does not meet the eligibility criteria for a Skilled Worker visa or a Health and Care Worker visa, and NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is unable to provide candidates or employees with a Certificate of Sponsorship.

Duration, Location, and Working Pattern

  • This is a permanent part‑time position of 34.5 hours per week.
  • The shift pattern is rotational 07:30‑15:00/30.
  • You will be based at Inverclyde Royal Hospital.
  • Salary is pro‑rata for part‑time hours.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain a clean and safe environment by following agreed cleaning work schedules, methods, and procedures.
  • Work in accordance with NHS Scotland National Cleaning Specification and the Healthcare Acquired Infection (HAI) Task Force Code of Practice at all times.
  • Rotate across all wards, clinical areas and departments within the hospital to support service delivery and may also be required to provide a food and beverage service for patients, ensuring all duties are carried out in line with current Food Safety Regulations.

Qualifications and Experience Required

  • Understanding of NHS Scotland National Cleaning Specification.
  • Awareness of Healthcare Acquired Infection (HAI) Task Force Code of Practice.
  • Knowledge of Food Safety Regulations.
