About WPT

Wickersley Partnership Trust (WPT) is committed to delivering high-quality education across South Yorkshire. We foster collaboration and support every student’s social, emotional, and academic development.

About the Role

As a Teaching Assistant Level 2, you will support the classroom teacher in delivering engaging lessons, ensuring resources are ready and the environment is safe and organised. You will work directly with students—sometimes with the whole class, often in small groups or one-to-one—to help them understand learning activities and reach their goals. From marking routine tests to supporting students with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), this role blends academic support with pastoral care.

  • Learning Support: Deliver structured teaching programmes and assist the class teacher with learning activities, supporting individuals and small groups to achieve their goals.
  • Monitoring & Assessment: Monitor and report on pupil progress and achievement, providing detailed feedback to the teacher and assisting with routine marking and record-keeping.
  • Environment & Admin: Maintain an organised learning environment by managing resources, conducting clerical duties such as display work, and ensuring Health and Safety compliance.
  • Pastoral & Behaviour: Support classroom management by promoting good behaviour and providing pastoral care, including the implementation of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) for students with specific needs.

Qualifications

The successful candidate must hold an NVQ Level 2 for Teaching Assistants (or equivalent qualification or experience).
