About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Warehouse Stock Control Manager to oversee day to day stock control within our warehouse operations.

The primary purpose of this role is to deliver 100% Inventory Record Accuracy (IRA), enforce strict FIFO methodology to minimise waste and prevent out of date exposure, and maintain sustainable stock control standards across the business.

As the go to person for weekly warehouse counts, you will lead investigations into stock discrepancies, identify root causes of stock loss/gain, and implement corrective actions. This role requires resilience, strong analytical ability, and the confidence to challenge process gaps while bringing teams together to improve performance.

Key Responsibilities

Stock Control, Accuracy & Governance

  • Inventory Accuracy: Deliver and maintain 100% Inventory Record Accuracy (IRA) by ensuring physical stock perfectly matches digital systems.
  • Stock Rotation: Enforce strict FIFO (First In, First Out) processes to minimise waste and eliminate out-of-date exposure.
  • Audits & Counts: Lead weekly cycle counts and full inventory checks; track damaged, missing, or expired goods.
  • Discrepancy Investigation: Produce weekly warehouse stock loss/gain reports, implement structured investigation reporting standards, and execute corrective actions.
  • Meeting Participation: Attend daily management FLOW meetings, focusing on operational losses and corrective actions.

Process Improvement & Data Management

  • Best Practice: Introduce, maintain, and document best-practice warehouse counting and digital documentation storage procedures.
  • Training: Develop and maintain training documentation for stock control procedures to upskill wider warehouse teams.
  • Reporting: Generate comprehensive reports on stock levels, trends, and warehouse efficiency metrics for senior management.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Liaise with procurement, logistics, and retail audit teams to seamlessly join up warehouse and store results.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Experience: 3+ years of proven experience in a warehouse, logistics, or inventory control role.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), data handling, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Analytical Skills: Excellent numerical skills with a process improvement mindset and a track record of reducing stock loss.
  • Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail, resilience, accountability, and the confidence to challenge process inefficiencies.
