London Hybrid | 3 days onsite | Up to £79,000 + On Call Allowance
We are supporting a leading technology and managed services business on the appointment of a Senior Infrastructure & Backup Engineer to join a dedicated customer environment supporting critical infrastructure operations.
This role will suit an experienced infrastructure professional with strong capability across Azure, hybrid infrastructure, backup technologies and operational resilience.
You will take ownership of infrastructure and recovery services within a complex, enterprise scale environment, working closely with technical teams and senior stakeholders to ensure highly available, secure and resilient platforms.
The role
You will be responsible for:
- Designing, implementing and supporting complex infrastructure environments across on prem, hybrid and Azure platforms
- Managing enterprise backup, recovery and data protection solutions
- Leading disaster recovery testing, resilience planning and recovery activities
- Acting as a senior technical escalation point for infrastructure and backup related issues
- Supporting infrastructure lifecycle activities including upgrades, refreshes and optimisation
- Maintaining strong operational governance, documentation and technical standards
- Working closely with stakeholders within a regulated, high availability environment
Experience required
Strong experience across several of the following areas:
- Senior Infrastructure Engineering experience within enterprise or mission critical environments
- Azure infrastructure and hybrid cloud platforms
- Backup and recovery technologies such as Veeam, Commvault, Rubrik or similar
- Disaster Recovery, Business Continuity and Operational Resilience
- VMware, virtualisation and enterprise infrastructure technologies
- Strong troubleshooting, root cause analysis and technical problem solving capability
- Customer facing, stakeholder management or technical leadership experience
- Experience within regulated, financial services or managed services environments would be beneficial
What’s on offer
- Up to £79,000 base salary
- On call allowance of £500 per week when participating in the rota
- Hybrid working model with 3 days per week in London office and/or customer site
