Overview
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior QA Auditor (Wingates) to join our Quality Department on a 12-month fixed term contract. The role is estimated to start August 2026 and you will be working Monday to Friday 08.30 – 17.00.
The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing the quality and process audit service to the factories and all associated storage units in order to ensure the objectives and procedures detailed in the quality manual are achieved and to ensure the safety, legality and quality of the product are achieved and maintained.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the operation of the QA function by maintaining satisfactory standards of performance with regard to food safety, hygiene, discipline and health and safety and to bring all the issues arising from these duties to the attention of the Site QA Manager.
- Complete the daily tasks of the QA in their absence, tasks include:
- Glass & plastic audits
- Foreign body audits
- Ingredient shelf‑life monitoring
- Process checks
- Assist the department in preparation for factory/SSF preparing for customer visits/audits.
- Training and development and performance monitoring of the Quality Auditors.
- Maintain satisfactory standards of food safety and hygiene, and to resolve any associated issues; if not possible bring issues to the Quality Assurance Manager.
- Management of Yearly Senior QA schedule.
- Traceability & monthly mass balance.
- Liaising with external laboratory.
- Organise lab schedule and lab sheet.
- Act on any out‑of‑specification results including finished product, air plates, hand swabs, food contact packaging & water sampling.
- Ordering and repair of equipment such as Scales, Probes, pH meters.
- Liaise with factory operations to resolve factory issues.
- Oversee Pest Control.
- Oversee FBI, Assist with Customer Complaint Investigations.
- Assist with weekly/monthly reports.
- Assist in any customer complaint investigations.
- Project work as and when required.
- Perform other tasks which are of reasonable request in line with the QA department.
- Attend factory trials, launches and various meetings including attendance to the morning meeting in the absence of the Quality Manager.
- Assist NPD by attending panels and trials; ensuring product ready for launch (red and green standards/line progressives complete, cintex etc).
- Issue and report non conformances.
- Place non-conforming stock on hold.
- Issue concessions (with guidance from Site QA Manager).
- Ensure the hold procedure is followed correctly for any non-conforming raw materials and finished product.
- Ensure all CCP and food safety training is up to date and captured in the Skills Matrix.
Qualifications
Candidates should have previous QA experience within the food industry. Excellent organisational skills are key with HACCP knowledge.
