Position: Freight Pricing Specialist
Location: Birmingham, West Midlands
Salary: up to £35,000 + Bonus
Hours: Monday to Friday | Office-Based
A well-established and highly respected freight forwarding business is currently looking to appoint a Pricing Specialist professional to join its growing Birmingham operation.
With decades of success within international logistics and freight forwarding, this business continues to expand across the UK market and is seeking an ambitious and commercially focused individual to support its continued growth.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in freight forwarding, pricing, or internal sales who is looking to develop their career within a stable and fast-paced logistics environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Negotiating competitive rates with shipping lines, hauliers, and suppliers
- Preparing accurate customer quotations and pricing proposals
- Managing and following up on quotations with customers
- Supporting business development by adjusting pricing to secure new opportunities
- Building strong working relationships with both customers and suppliers
- Delivering a high standard of customer service throughout the quotation process
Requirements
- Previous experience within freight forwarding, pricing, or internal sales
- Good understanding of ocean freight operations
- Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational ability
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and to deadlines
- Confident communication and relationship‑building skills
