We deliver acute hospital, primary, community, and mental health services to a population of over 1.15 million people, and to a wider population of 2.2 million when regional and national services are included.

The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the team within Queen Elizabeth National Spinal Injuries Unit, Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. This role will allow rotation to the Rehabilitation Ward Philipshill and exposure to Neuro Critical Care. As an essential part of our national spinal injuries team, you’ll deliver high quality, clinically effective patient care at all times.

We are seeking enthusiastic and highly motivated band 5 registered nurses to join the existing National Spinal Injuries team. All staff will be supported by our dedicated Educator for Spinal Injuries and will undergo in‑house training and competencies enabling you to become competent in extended roles pertinent to spinal management such as supra‑pubic catheterisation, male catheterisation, tracheostomy care, specialist bowel management, and respiratory care for ventilated patients.

The Queen Elizabeth National Spinal Injuries Unit is part of a pilot for Digital Clinical Notes. This provides an opportunity to be involved in an innovative environment within NHSGGC. Twelve‑hour shifts will be offered with the flexibility of 7.5 hrs over a 24/7 service, and you will have the opportunity to rotate throughout spinal injuries and other acute areas to expand and develop skills.

All roles will be assessed for sponsorship eligibility in line with current Home Office requirements. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) can issue a Certificate of Sponsorship only where these requirements are met.
