Job Summary

As a Unit Nurse Manager (General) at Derham House care home in Upminster, you will lead nursing care, ensuring high quality and compassionate support for our residents. You will plan, manage and monitor the delivery of nursing, implement person‑centred care plans, and collaborate with local regulators and social services.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, manage, and monitor the delivery of nursing care to meet residents’ needs.
• Develop and implement person‑centred care plans and detailed risk assessments.
• Plan rotas, recruit, train, and mentor staff.
• Build and maintain relationships with local regulators and social services.
• Exercise autonomy to strengthen the unit, offering opportunities for professional development.

Essential Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RGN) with current NMC registration.
• Experience in producing well‑developed care plans and detailed risk assessments.
• Up‑to‑date knowledge of clinical practices and regulatory frameworks, including DoLs/MCA and Royal Pharmaceutical guidelines.
• Experience as a clinical mentor, supporting newly qualified nurses through preceptorship.
• Demonstrated leadership, ambition, resilience, and a track record of quality care improvements.
