Job Description:
A highly supportive SEN school in Sunderland is seeking an Autism Specialist Teacher to join their expanding team from September.
Responsibilities
- Deliver structured and engaging lessons
- Support sensory and communication strategies
- Create predictable routines and safe learning environments
- Encourage emotional regulation and independence
- Support pupils with social interaction and confidence-building
- Collaborate with Speech and Language Therapists and other SEN professionals
Qualifications
- Qualified Teacher Status
- Experience supporting pupils with Autism and SEN
- Strong understanding of differentiated teaching strategies
- Calm, patient and nurturing approach
- Commitment to inclusive and child‑centred education
