Bms Controls Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced BMS Engineer to join a growing building services team in London. You will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, maintenance, and optimisation of Building Management Systems across a range of commercial and residential properties.

This role is ideal for someone who is technically strong, detail‑oriented, and passionate about smart building technologies, energy efficiency, and modern control systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and commission BMS systems (e.g., Trend, Siemens, Schneider, Distech)
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on BMS controls
• Diagnose and resolve system faults across HVAC, lighting, and energy management systems
• Optimise system performance to improve energy efficiency and building comfort
• Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and control strategies
• Work closely with HVAC engineers, electricians, and facilities management teams
• Produce clear technical reports and commissioning documentation
• Ensure compliance with health & safety and industry regulations

Required Skills & Experience

• Proven experience as a BMS Engineer or Controls Engineer
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems and building automation
• Experience with at least one major BMS platform (Trend, Siemens, Schneider, Honeywell, etc.)
• Ability to troubleshoot software and hardware control issues
• Understanding of electrical control panels and wiring diagrams
• Strong communication and client‑facing skills
• Full UK driving licence preferred

Desirable

• Knowledge of BACnet, Modbus, or other communication protocols
• Experience in energy optimisation or smart building projects
• CSCS/ECS card or relevant electrical qualifications
• Trend or Siemens certification
