This role provides electrical design and integration support for the introduction of new systems and equipment across maritime platforms. It covers the full design lifecycle, from early feasibility and ship survey activities through to detailed electrical design and installation documentation.Production of Installation Design Solutions including Electrical/System Drawings, Cable Routes, Data Sheets, Bills of Materials n Liaison with MoD Customer and Industry Partners throughout Design process developing agreed Equipment Integration Requirements n Undertake Ship Surveys supporting Design Integration, Material State Reports, Configuration Control and Power Load Charts n Configuring and Maintaining Ship Databases for Electrical Power Distribution and Blown Fibre Networks n Production of Ship and Equipment Feasibility Studies n Collaborate with in-house Mechanical, Structural, HVAC and Project Management Teams n Support Ship-build and Submarine electrical detailed design activities n Provide technical input to Product Safety of Design Services deliverablesKnowledge of Electrical Systems theory n Interpretation and application of Electrical Design Standards n Working knowledge of Electrical Installation Practices and Electrical Distribution Systems n Working knowledge/understanding of CAD/Engineering Drawing Toolsets n IT literate in Microsoft Office applications n ONC/HNC in Electrical Engineering or equivalentThe Design Services – Electrical Team:Our Team of engineers is sourced from a combination of Industry, Armed Forces Service Leavers and our own BAE Apprenticeship Schemes.
