Job Title: Speech and Language Therapist
Location: Manchester / Wythenshawe / North West
Salary: £40,000–£50,000 (DOE)
Contract: Full-time / Part-time considered
Role Purpose
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Speech and Language Therapist (SaLT) to support children and young people within a specialist education setting.
The successful candidate will work with learners with SEND, SEMH, autism, speech and communication needs, and complex learning needs , helping improve communication, language development, emotional regulation, and access to learning .
You will play a vital role in delivering therapeutic interventions and supporting EHCP outcomes within a multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct speech and language assessments and contribute to EHCP outcomes.
- Deliver 1:1, group and classroom-based therapy interventions .
- Support learners with speech, language, communication and social interaction needs .
- Create therapy plans, reports and clinical notes.
- Provide communication strategies and classroom recommendations to school staff.
- Work collaboratively with families, teachers and external professionals.
- Participate in safeguarding and multidisciplinary meetings.
Requirements
- Qualified Speech and Language Therapist (SaLT) .
- Registered with (essential).
- Membership with preferred.
- Experience in paediatric, school-based or SEND settings preferred.
- Experience supporting autism, SLCN, SEMH and complex needs .
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain).
