About Us

KM Architectural Consultants Ltd is a growing architectural practice based on the outskirts of Bristol, specialising in residential development projects throughout the South West and beyond.

Established in 2020, the practice is led by Kevin Moyse, who has over 25 years’ experience within the residential sector, having worked for both private architectural practices and major national housebuilders.

We provide a professional service from initial design through to Building Regulations approval, with a particular focus on technical design and construction working drawings for residential developments ranging from bespoke one-off homes and extensions through to large multi-phase housing schemes for regional and national developers.

The Role

Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Architectural Technician or Architectural Technologist to join our team.

This is a predominantly technical role, producing and coordinating detailed construction information for residential developments. The successful candidate will be capable of working independently whilst maintaining a high level of accuracy, coordination and attention to detail.

You will be involved in a wide range of residential projects, including:

  • Large housing developments for national and regional housebuilders
  • Affordable housing schemes
  • Bespoke new-build dwellings
  • Residential extensions and alterations
  • Apartment developments

The role is primarily AutoCAD-based and will involve the production and coordination of Building Regulations and construction drawing packages.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparation of detailed construction working drawings
  • Production of Building Regulations packages
  • Coordination of architectural information with structural engineers, consultants and clients
  • Reviewing and incorporating client and consultant comments
  • Ensuring drawing packages are accurate, coordinated and issued to programme
  • Undertaking self-checking and quality assurance procedures prior to issue

Essential Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years’ UK residential experience
  • Strong knowledge of UK Building Regulations
  • Proficient in AutoCAD
  • Experience producing construction working drawings
  • Good understanding of traditional and timber frame construction
  • Strong technical detailing skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Ability to manage workload and meet project deadlines
  • Full right to work in the UK

Desirable Requirements

  • CIAT accredited qualification or working towards accreditation
  • Experience working with volume housebuilders
  • Knowledge of NHBC Standards and warranty provider requirements
  • Revit experience
