Cost volatility, geopolitical uncertainty and increasing demand are creating new challenges for manufacturers around the world. Rather than standing still, McCloskey is investing. As a result, we are seeking to appoint a Senior Sourcing Specialist to help support the next phase of growth. This is an opportunity to play a key role in shaping how McCloskey sources critical products and services across its global operations.
Working closely with the Sourcing Manager and wider supply chain leadership team, you will take ownership of high value sourcing projects, lead commercial negotiations, identify and onboard new suppliers and help strengthen the resilience of the supply chain.
You’ll be joining at a particularly important time – production continues to increase and ew markets are being developed. The business is expanding its presence within recycling and environmental sectors while continuing to strengthen its position within the aggregates industry. Against this backdrop, sourcing has become a strategic priority.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to influence decisions, challenge existing processes and deliver meaningful commercial impact.
Duties and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Sourcing Manager, you will support a range of sourcing and supplier development activities across the business. Responsibilities will include:
- Leading strategic sourcing projects from identification through implementation
- Developing sourcing strategies based on spend analysis and supply market intelligence
- Identifying, evaluating and onboarding new suppliers locally and internationally
- Leading commercial negotiations and contract discussions with suppliers
- Delivering cost containment and cost avoidance initiatives
- Supporting supplier risk management and supply chain resilience programmes
- Leveraging organisational buying power to improve commercial outcomes
- Managing multiple sourcing and contracting projects simultaneously
- Working closely with engineering, manufacturing and operational stakeholders
- Supporting supplier performance improvement and ongoing supplier development
- Contributing to wider sourcing initiatives across the Metso and MPP Group network
- Visiting suppliers and supplier sites as required
We’re searching for:
An experienced sourcing professional who combines commercial awareness with strong negotiation capability and a genuine interest in solving complex supply chain challenges. You will ideally have:
- At least five years’ experience within a senior sourcing, procurement or category management role
- Strong knowledge of strategic sourcing, supplier management and strategic procurement processes
- A proven track record delivering cost avoidance projects
- Experience leading supplier negotiations and managing commercial discussions
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills
- Excellent planning, organisational and project management capability
- Experience working within manufacturing, engineering or a similarly complex environment is advantageous but not essential
- Proficiency across Microsoft Office and ERP systems
