The Role

We are recruiting for an Assistant Warehouse Manager to support the Warehouse Manager in the day-to-day running of a busy warehouse operation. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced warehouse professional looking to take the next step in their career.

Key Responsibilities

• Support warehouse, distribution and stock control operations.
• Monitor inventory levels and maintain accurate stock records.
• Assist with planning work schedules and allocating tasks to warehouse staff.
• Help ensure operational costs are managed effectively.
• Produce operational reports as required.
• Support employee training and development.
• Maintain fleet operations in line with legal and company requirements.
• Promote and maintain high standards of health and safety.
• Assist with recruitment, absence management and performance management processes.
• Drive excellent customer service and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Motivate and support the warehouse team to achieve operational targets.

Essential Criteria

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar warehouse supervisory or management role.
• Strong knowledge of warehouse operations and inventory management.
• Experience leading and developing teams.
• Ability to identify and implement process improvements.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook.
• Knowledge of health and safety requirements within a warehouse environment.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Flexibility to travel between sites when required.

Desirable Criteria

• Experience using ERP and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
• Experience in logistics and transport planning.
• Forklift licences (Counterbalance and Reach).
